China Krys Darrington – NEORTC 2017 Trainer of the Year

NEORTC congratulates China Darrington who was named the 2017 NEORTC Trainer of the Year by our county training liaisons. China has been a trainer for the OCWTP since 2010.

Jodie Hembree had the extreme pleasure of hearing China speak at a Child and Family Leadership event. Jodie approached China after the presentation and asked her if she would be interested in telling her story to caseworkers, foster parents, and supervisors in our region and her response was “Sure“!

China is a person and trainer who is always ready and willing to do anything asked of her, whether it is traveling to our far reaching counties or develop new training outlines. Her workshops are unique in that they combine her personal experiences as a former addict and her professional experiences serving as a recovery coach. This has resulted in much positive feedback as trainees appreciate both aspects presented and have come to view China as an inspiration and evidence that one can truly overcome the struggles of addiction.

With the heroin and opiate epidemic hitting Ohio hard, we are fortunate to have China as a valuable resource for our caseworkers, foster parents, and supervisors. Kudos to China who is so deserving of this award. We look forward to hearing from China at our NEORTC Fall Retreat on Friday, October 27, 2017.
